John Hughes Honored With Artwork

TELETOON RETRO'S TOP 5 SWEETHEARTS
Cupid had his arrows aimed at TELETOON Retro as Canadian fans voted online for their Top 5 cartoon couples of all time. Following a ten-day voting contest, TELETOON Retro is pleased to reveal the Top 5 sweethearts that will be inducted into the TELETOON Retro Hall of Fame this month:

1. Fred and Daphne (Scooby-Doo!)
2. Batman and Catwoman (Batman: The Animated Series)
3. Alvin and Britney (Alvin & The Chipmunks)
4. Scooby-Doo and Shaggy (Scooby-Doo!)
5. Optimus Prime and Elita One (Transformers)

Between January 28 and February 6, viewers visited teletoonretro.com to rank their favourite classic animated admirers from a list of 18 couples that included everyone from Fred and Wilma Flintstone to Granny and Tweety. Thousands of votes were cast by fans to decide the most-loved cartoon couples of all time.

To celebrate the newly inducted Top 5 Sweethearts, TELETOON Retro will air a special programming marathon featuring all five couples as part of the "Retro Rewind" programming block on Sunday, February 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET.

The Top 5 Sweethearts join the TELETOON Retro Hall of Fame alongside the Top 5 favourite cartoon characters of all time as chosen by the fans in December 2010. The original TELETOON Retro Hall of Fame campaign encouraged viewers to vote for their favourite TELETOON Retro characters of all time, with the Top 5 characters becoming the inaugural inductees to the TELETOON Retro Hall of Fame. The winners were announced in December, with Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo, Optimus Prime, Batman and Spider-man taking the Top 5 spots, respectively.
